A SOLDIER’S TALE

Stravinsky's L'histoire du slodat

Three narrators take on the many voices of a soldier weaving his way through his wartime ordeals in this splendid chamber music work by Stravinsky. Resident Conductor Christopher Confessore will lead Daniel Szasz, and Alabama Symphony Orchestra musicians John McElroy, principal trumpet; Jay Evans, principal trombone; Tariq Masri, principal bassoon; and Mark Libby, principal percussion, as they take us back to wartime Europe in the year 1918 when many a soldier saw his choices in very stark terms.
